I'm back!

Of course, I say I'm back, but the truth is, I'm terrible at blogging.  I need to do a bit better with this. I've never been a big writer and I'm definitely better at telling you all my stories in person than on paper.

So this last year has brought about A LOT of changes for me. I did some extensive traveling in 2017, which I will eventually blog about, but more importantly I moved from Baltimore, Maryland to Juneau, Alaska. That's right, Alaska. The last frontier. The dream travel destination for so many people who love adventure, outdoor activities, and well snow.  Thankfully, Juneau is located in the Tongass National Forest which is a rainforest so we get a lot more rain than snow. I've always said that I wanted to live in a place where you look one way and see mountains and look the other and see water and now I have it!

Pictures simply do not do justice to how incredibly beautiful the scenery is here. Picture perfect views all the time!

And I can't forget about the wildlife! Alaska is full of simply amazing creatures. In Juneau, we don't get too many moose or brown (grizzly) bears, but we have all the amazing marine life footsteps away and bald eagles over us constantly! We also have the "friendly" neighborhood black bears who just love to knock over the trash cans...

Dinner time! Alaska is famous for halibut and salmon fishing! This guy at 12 pounds is actually super small!
Did I forget to mention whales? We have humpbacks and orcas coming through all the time! Check out this video of a humpback whale showing off his tail! Whale watching tours are one of the most popular tourist attractions in Juneau.

View of Juneau from the top (kind of) of Mt. Roberts. You can take a tram to the top and check out the nature center, plus go on some really cool short hikes.

Kayaking in Echo Cove. This is pretty much at the end of the road for us in Juneau. Most people don't realize that the only way in and out of Juneau is by boat or by plane! It definitely makes us pretty isolated!

So what do you think? Want to come visit? There are so many places to visit in Alaska and everywhere you go offers up breathtaking scenery and the most amazing experiences. If you are adventurous and outdoorsy, a trip to Alaska is a must. If you dream of seeing the Last Frontier, contact me and we will make it happen!
